The Norwich Community Development Office is accepting applications for its property rehabilitation program, which provides no-interest loans for low- to moderate-income homeowners looking for assistance in bringing their buildings up to code compliance.
Wayne Sharkey, Norwich’s rehabilitation specialist, said the funding is available for such things as new wiring, roofing and lead paint abatement. One tier is for owner occupants, and another is for investor owners.
Sharkey said investor owners must put up 25 percent of the project’s cost. Those loans are based on tenant income.
Applications are available at 23 Union St. or on the cities at norwichct. The office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 22. All eligible applications will be placed into a lottery.
